HALL 1 – DARK STAGE
From its very beginning, the promise of the digitized economy was to automate tasks that are too tedious or too error-prone for humans. In recent years, this promise has gotten a lot closer to reality: Autonomous robots inspecting complex objects, transactions being autonomously executed by software, and trustless environments to ensure compliance are just a few examples for businesses becoming far more efficient than they could have been only a few years ago.Klaus Sonnenleiter, CEO of Luftronix, Inc and CTO of ELEKSSonia Barrios, Consultant for the Energy Industry, ELEKS
Robotics, machine learning, and AI are important technologies of the future, with great potential for broad business and societal impact. The past few years have brought about significant breakthroughs, from self-driving cars and instant language translation to cognitive assistants and personalized healthcare. CEOs believe it will significantly change the way they do business. Working together with AI systems, humans can augment and amplify many aspects of work and life. Not surprisingly, people are also asking important questions about the long-term social implications of these advances. • Discussing recent trends and advances in AI, machine learning, and robotics • Applications to creating next generation cognitive and digital cities • Emerging opportunities and concerns for citizens and for society
Harmony in motion As we enter a new era where everything will be connected and intelligent, but is the consumer experience ready for the new era? In this session, Aloysius shares how lack of a seamless user experience hinders IoT uptake and how the team is enhancing the mutual connectivity, communication and integration of IoT devices in a convenient way through their latest initiatives.

Technologies like machine learning make it possible, for the first time in history, for companies to be more profitable because they're more sustainable and create a positive social impact. This idea, which we call sustainable business transformation, is the successor to digital transformation and will upend business models and industries in the same way over the coming years. Since the corporate superpowers of the next century will be data-driven, AI-led sustainable superpower, Forbes Ignite is hosting a short workshop to help Clevel leaders plot their competitive edge in this world. During the workshop, we'll review the Forbes Ignite AI Canvas from our upcoming book, "What's Your AI Strategy" and the sustainable innovation flywheel created with some of the most significant organizations on the planet. Who should attend: • C-level and SVP equivalent leaders in IT, strategy, data science, sustainability, social impact and innovation who want to understand how AI and sustainability will drive their growth strategies in the next decade and beyond. • Director+ data science practitioners who want to understand the business and strategy context behind the sustainable, AI-driven business models of the future
90% of all tech startups fail. If you are an aspiring tech startup founder, or tech entrepreneur, the odds are against you in succeeding. Around the world we continue to see the negative effects of the digital divide and its disproportionate impact and exponential exacerbation in communities around the world. As countries continue to harness the potential of adopting digital technologies to digitize services, secure infrastructure and ensure widespread internet connectivity, the moral imperative for ensuring equity of access has never been more timely. This includes solving for nuances such as the elimination of biases in machine learning and AI models. The conversation around equity has evolved beyond simply those in rural or underserved areas and now encompasses disparities in gender and ethnicity. How can business and technology leaders collaborate and co-innovate alongside government and academia to help build cities that are sustainable and inclusive? It starts with baking equity and inclusion into our AI models – from inception, to development, to deployment.

Rashid Hall - The Data Labs stage In today’s data driven business world, catchphrases like data analytics, data science (DS), artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) are terms swirling around boardroom discussions. These digital concepts are increasingly becoming imperative for CIOs and IT leaders in critical decision-making process. Often times these terminologies are loosely or interchangeably referred, without deciphering the real meaning and how individually and collectively they impact businesses. In order to exploit the true potential of these technologies, it is critical for companies to demystify the ambiguity surrounding them. In this session, we attempt to demystify the terminologies, explain the comprehensiveness of what data science and data analytics is, what artificial intelligence (AI) embodies, and how technologies like Machine Leaning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) are evolving fast, stimulating AI adoption on a broader scale. Here, we take you briefly through the natural evolution of these technologies spanning over decades, how we could distinguish one from another in our business conversations and how today they interact and correlate with each other to digitally transform the current business landscape."

The COVID-19 pandemic had a major impact on the economies of the world. Despite this, while the world, in unison, came to a standstill, we witnessed continued growth and investor confidence as for the first time in history, USD $ 1 billion was invested in MENA-based startups, a 13% increase year over year. Although COVID-19 accelerated digital transformation for the MENA region, there are still a lot of challenges as it remains less developed than our counterparts in the US and Asia. Why is that? What are the challenges? And, what change needs to happen in order to reach the heights of the US and Asia?
